SEG Celebrates the Success of the Inaugural GEOMIN Symposium in Saudi Arabia
The Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) proudly celebrates the success of the inaugural GEOMIN Symposium, co-curated by SEG and hosted by the Saudi Geological Survey (SGS) in Jeddah, KSA. Bringing together delegates from 38 countries and more than 180 companies, the event marked a major milestone in advancing collaboration across the global mining and geoscience communities.
A Breakthrough for the Future of Mining
GEOMIN united leaders from government, academia, and industry to explore the latest advances in mineral exploration, technology, and sustainability. The three-day program featured high-impact panels, technical sessions, and networking forums focused on how geophysics, geology, and innovation can accelerate Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 mining transformation.

“GEOMIN was an outstanding success! The excitement among attendees from government, operators, suppliers, and consultants was truly infectious. The panel discussions were focused and impactful, while the technical sessions sparked lively hallway conversations that continued well beyond their scheduled times,” said Joseph (Joe) Reilly, SEG President.
Collaboration that Drives Progress
“GEOMIN’s inaugural success — with 550+ delegates from 38 countries and over 180 companies — reflects how powerful collaboration can be when science meets shared purpose,” said Yogaani Bhatia, Managing Director – Global Business Development & International.
“Co-curated by SEG and hosted by the Saudi Geological Survey, GEOMIN has become a true platform connecting global geoscience with Saudi Arabia’s mining transformation. SEG’s dual strength across oil, gas, and minerals uniquely positions us to drive cross-industry learning and innovation that advances the future of exploration,” she added.
A Platform for Global Connection
Throughout the event, attendees engaged in forward-looking discussions on sustainability, digital transformation, and the role of geophysics in resource development. The exhibition floor buzzed with live demonstrations, poster sessions, and cross-sector dialogue that strengthened ties across exploration, mining, and geoscience disciplines.
The Symposium also served as a bridge between Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 objectives and SEG’s mission to advance applied geophysics worldwide—demonstrating how shared knowledge and collaboration can shape the energy and minerals landscape of the future.
Thank You to Our Sponsors and Committees
SEG extends heartfelt appreciation to all sponsors, exhibitors, and committee members whose dedication made GEOMIN possible. Their contributions helped deliver an exceptional first edition that set a strong foundation for future growth.

Looking Ahead
The enthusiasm and engagement at GEOMIN 2025 underscore a clear message: the world is ready for deeper collaboration at the intersection of geophysics and mining. SEG looks forward to building on this success as plans for the next edition of GEOMIN begin to take shape.
