Juan Soldo
Corporate Manager in Geophysics, Pluspetrol
Juan graduated with honors in 1998 from La Plata University, Argentina with a degree in Geophysical Sciences. In 1999, received the Perez Companc Scholarship in order to finish a Master Degree in Reservoir engineering at the Instituto Tecnologico de Buenos Aires (ITBA). In 2005 graduated as a PhD in Reservoir Geophysics from the Heriot-Watt University in Edinburg, Scotland. Senior Technical Interpreter Geophysicist, mainly focused on Seismic Reservoir Characterization with the ability to coordinate and lead a wide range of geophysical activities for E&P business. Proven technical expertise and competency to screen, execute and advise on geophysical techniques and best practices in geophysics. Career highlights include recognition for the ability to lead and achieve results and develop innovative solutions to complex geophysical and technological problems; human capital; financial; and organizational issues. Seismic interpreter with 20+ years of global experience in oil & gas field exploration, development and mature field rejuvenation including clastics, carbonates and non-conventional plays with substantive work in research, business development, scientific consulting, and academia. Worked on leading international O&G companies such as Repsol, YPF, Petrobras, Ecopetrol and Pluspetrol.

Catherine Truffert (Dr)
CEO of IRIS Instruments
Catherine Truffert hold a PhD in geophysics from Ecole Normale Supérieure (University of Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris). After more than 20 years spent in the BRGM (French Geological Survey), serving successively as Head of the Geology division and as Research Director, Catherine is the CEO of IRIS Instruments, a world-class geophysical instrument manufacturer, since March 2017. During her carrier in Geosciences, she proved ability to meet the challenge posed by the gap between industry and academia which can be bridged by listening, understanding, partnership and cross-fertilization. She serves the Society of Exploration Geophysicists as Chair of the Near Surface Section.

Jim Hollis
Co-Founder, COO of Geothermal Technologies
Jim, a 30+ year member of the SEG, is an exploration geophysicist by training and passion. Throughout his career he has focused on introducing and commercializing game-changing exploration technology advancements within the Energy and Mining industries including innovations in seismic imaging, wireless nodal seismic acquisition, software development and visualization, geospatial intelligence, machine learning enhanced resource exploration and sustainable energy alternatives.

I am currently leading a team of 130+ brilliant geophysicists supporting exploration, development and new energy business in PETRONAS and have spent 37+ years in the oil & gas industry in various technical and leadership roles. I have championed introduction of cutting-edge geophysical technologies globally and led strategic talent development initiatives. I’m an IPTC board member, SEG’s APAC chair, recipient of the National Petroleum Management Award (India), SEG Honorary Lecturer (2014) and a candidate for Director at Large (2022). I work actively to promote diversity, equity and inclusion.
