Adriana Citlali Ramírez

Adriana Citlali Ramírez is a geophysicist with more than 20 years of experience in academia, research, and senior leadership in the energy industry. A Mexican citizen, she holds a PhD in physics and recently completed the Executive CTO Education at Cambridge Judge Business School. She has worked for operators and major service companies as a researcher, senior director, and chief geophysicist in seismic technology, operations, and multiclient business. Her expertise lies in advancing seismic technologies, multiphysics, and artificial intelligence to support business strategies for hydrocarbon and mineral exploration, as well as new energy solutions. She has a strong track record of aligning technology with business objectives, fostering collaboration across disciplines, and driving innovation in geophysical applications. Ramírez has been an active SEG volunteer, serving in roles such as Honorary Lecturer for Europe, Finance and Audit Committee member, vice-chair and chair of the board of the SEG Advanced Modeling Corporation (SEAM), chair of the Distinguished Instructor Short Course Committee, founding chair of the Europe Regional Advisory Committee, and special editor for Geophysics. A long-standing member of the Research and Women’s Network committees, she is a prolific technical contributor, speaker, panelist, moderator, and organizer of executive panels, conferences, and technology workshops. She has advised MSc and PhD candidates, mentored early-career professionals, and served as PhD opponent at universities worldwide. In 2020, she received the inaugural EXATEC Career Award from Tec de Monterrey for her contributions to hydrocarbon exploration and advocacy for women’s rights. Ramírez is a recognized advocate for diversity, inclusion, and compassionate leadership. Beyond geophysics, she is a passionate visual artist and writer.
