Introduction
Seismic Petrophysics is a critical integrative discipline that connects petrophysical reservoir properties with seismic data through the application of rock physics principles. By linking lithology, porosity, fluid saturation, and elastic properties to seismic responses, Seismic Petrophysics plays a central role in quantitative seismic interpretation and uncertainty reduction. This symposium aims to bring together geophysicists, petrophysicists, rock physicists, reservoir engineers, and researchers to share advances, challenges, and best practices in Seismic Petrophysics. It will emphasize integration, practical applications, and forward-looking technologies that support both conventional reservoir development and emerging energy transition initiatives.
Overview
This symposium aims to equip participants with the knowledge, methodologies, and practical insights required to effectively bridge petrophysics and seismic interpretation. It seeks to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among geoscientists, petrophysicists, and reservoir engineers. The Symposium will provide a dedicated forum for in-depth discussions on current industry practices, emerging technologies, and future advancements in Seismic Petrophysics, with a strong emphasis on real-world applications and integration across disciplines.
Objectives
The primary objective of the symposium is to promote awareness of the importance and value of Seismic Petrophysics within the geoscience community, with particular focus on its role in integrated reservoir characterization. The symposium will encourage open and extended discussions on current challenges and best practices, explore future developments and technological advancements in the field, and strengthen collaboration between seismic, petrophysical, and reservoir disciplines.
