Exciting news! To make things more convenient for our global community, we are hosting two editions of the virtual Summit on Drone Geophysics this year—including an Asia Pacific Summit. No matter which hemisphere you call home, you’ll get access to the same top-tier content.
The Summit on Drone Geophysics will be held from 26–29 October and the Asia Pacific Summit on Drone Geophysics will be held from 30 November–3 December. Register for one and you get access to the recordings for both. Visit the time zone tabs for each event below.

Asia Pacific Summit on Drone Geophysics
30 November–3 December | Virtual
The 2026 SEG Summit on Drone Geophysics and Asia Pacific Summit on Drone Geophysics will feature the latest science and innovation on the integration of drones into geophysical studies through a four-day, online international conference.
Attendees will:
- Connect with leaders in the development and use of drones for geophysics.
- Learn about recent advancements in various geophysical sensor technologies and scientific methods/applications. Please see the list in the Call for Papers tab.
- Network with colleagues to share information and meet potential new collaborators.
In recent years, drones (or small uncrewed aircraft systems, sUAS) have transitioned from a novel concept to an essential tool in the geosciences. The workshop will give attendees an overview of state-of-the-art sUAS evolving technology for real-world geophysical studies, offering insights into developments, trends, and challenges impacting this rapidly growing field. The summit provides a valuable, interactive learning and networking opportunity for geophysics professionals at all stages of their careers, whether you are currently using drone-deployed geophysical sensors or just beginning to explore how these technologies can aid your scientific mission.
The event will include scientific talks, panels, community discussions, and more. Professionals from industry, academia, and government, as well as students, are invited to participate.
The 2026 Summit on Drone Geophysics marks our seventh annual multi-day online meeting. Initially, it was a one-day event after the annual SEG meeting, and the expanding content and increased participation reflect the growing interest and demand for these tools and technologies. This summit presents a premier opportunity for geophysics and geoscience professionals to gain the latest updates in a dynamic field where science, sensors, platforms, and regulatory frameworks continue to evolve rapidly.
This is the second workshop on the topic of drones and geophysics geared toward the Asia Pacific region and this year the name was changed to reflect the connection between the Asia Pacific Summit on Drone Geophysics and the original Summit.
