10th SEG Europe Virtual Student Conference

About

13 May 2026 | 1:00 p.m. Central European Time (CET)
Virtual

After the success of the previous SEG Virtual Student Conferences, we are hosting the tenth conference in May 2026. This virtual conference is for European students. It is open to all final year undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD students across Europe.

Students who have not yet presented at a major conference but would like to share their work are encouraged to participate. Equally, it is a great opportunity for more experienced students to present within their network. Students who don’t have anything to present are welcome to register to see their peers’ work. Prizes will be given for the top 3 best combined (abstract + presentation). Group discussion will follow the presentations.

The top 1-3 talks (depending on quality) will be invited to present as part of the SEG Europe technical webinar series. Ideally, each selected talk will have its own 20-30 minute webinar + discussion.

We are recruiting for the following applied geophysics papers in AI, CCS, Geothermal, Critical Minerals, but are also accepting applied geophysics papers from other topics.

This conference is hosted by students of the SEG Europe Regional Advisory Committee.

Why Participate?

  • Share research ideas
  • Network with peers across Europe
  • Develop science communication experience

Prizes will be given to the top three combined abstract and oral presentations:

  • 1st Place = US$500
  • 2nd Place = US$300
