Martin Stupel

Martin has been serving as the SEGF Assistant Treasurer for the year 2025 and is the logical person to fill the Treasurer position. He has worked extensively with the Treasurer and Financial Staff to analyze financial data, make budget recommendations, improve reporting to the Board, monitor the investment portfolio, and rework policy and procedure as needed. He is intimately involved and familiar with SEGF finances and procedure and will bring a strong commitment to working with staff to steward what has been put in place over the previous few years and continue to make improvements. Martin has served as the SEGF Treasurer in the past. Martin is a long-time member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) with more than three decades of experience in marine geophysics and seismic survey management. Since joining Geophysical Pursuit in 2004, he has served as Geophysical Manager, leading business development support and ensuring that multi-client programs leverage advanced geophysical technologies for maximum value. A graduate of the University of Texas with a BSc in Geophysics, Martin began his career at Western Geophysical, where he spent 16 years in technical and managerial roles. He has remained an active SEG volunteer, serving as a continuing education instructor and contributing to multiple committees, including Scholarships, Field Camp Grants, and Finance.
