Geoscientists Without Borders ®

10 years. 42 projects. 30 countries.

Just as medical professionals use imaging techniques to determine where problems exist in human beings when diagnosing health issues, geoscientists provide ways to image and understand what's below the surface of the earth.

GWB provides funding for projects where geoscience skills can help communities facing environmental hardships and natural hazards. With GWB support, these communities can understand, plan for, and address water shortages, earthquake, tsunami, landslide hazards, pollution mitigation, and improved agriculture.

GWB is a catalyst for members of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) and other geoscientists to collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams, training local communities and students in the use of geoscience methods and to help solve concrete problems.

During the past decade, 42 projects in 30 countries have received GWB funding to do work that has positively impacted thousands of people around the world.

Our goal: Fund six new additional projects

Join the hundreds of other donors who have chosen to support these impactful efforts today!

Put on your best dress.

A black-tie gala is a good time to go all-out with your outfit. However, we simply encourage our guests to "dress the part." Please no casual wear.

Adults only, please.

We love children. In fact, this event directly benefits a program that impacts thousands of children around the world. That said, the 2020 Black Tie Gala has been planned as a 21-and-older evening.
