The United States comprises four of the SEG Council districts. The color-coded US map shown below indicates the geographic area for each US district. Each district is divided in such a way that equally distributes the member population across the different geographical locations in the United States. Blue markers indicate SEG Sections, Associated Societies, and Technical Sections.

Globally, the SEG Council consists of 12 districts. The color-coded world map shown below reflects the various geographical regions for each district. Gray markers indicate SEG Sections, Associated Societies, and Technical Sections.
