About Interpretation

Interpretation includes papers directly related to the practice of interpretation of the Earth’s subsurface for exploration and extraction of mineral resources and for environmental and engineering applications.

The journal, published quarterly in print and online, aims to accelerate innovation in interpretation for resource exploration, exploitation, and environmental stewardship. Interpretation is jointly published by the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG).

According to the Science Edition of Clarivate Analytics' InCites Journal Citation Reports, the journal's 2017 impact factor is .937. This is the journal's third year of inclusion.
