Life of Field workflows involve expertise in geology, engineering and geophysics. The full work process is not adequately benchmarked for interpretation accuracy and workflows are inefficient. Exercising an industrial scale synthetic data set could significantly improve this.
SEAM Life of Field data will be generated for complex geology, complete reservoir description, and seismic. Reservoir dynamics will then be simulated along with the resulting well and geophysical and geomechanical responses. The resulting data can be used to estimate the "inverse" problem of interpreting reservoir dynamics in a unique condition where everything about the reservoir is known.
The project initiated on 31 December 2015 and will be scaled to complete deliverables within a 3.5-year period. Although planning for the details of the project is well-advanced, further corporate sponsorship is invited (use the link at right). In particular: the current project defines a clastic reservoir, but with increased sponsorship a carbonate model may also become feasible. Decisions like this are made by the project Management Committee, not by SEAM Corp.
