Tulsa, OK, 28 May 2019 – After a comprehensive global search, the SEG Board of Directors has announced its selection of John J. Koehr as the new SEG Executive Director. 

Koehr’s professional career includes more than 30 years of experience as a senior executive, project manager, and engineer in multidiscipline technology fields. Most recently, he served 16 years as a not-for-profit staff executive at the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. His previous leadership experience includes managing major projects in the submarine telecommunications cable industry, project engineering and management in the commercial nuclear power industry, and service as a U.S. Navy submarine officer (awarded the Navy Commendation and Achievement Medals) with deployments to the Mediterranean Sea, North Atlantic Ocean, and Caribbean Sea. Koehr holds a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and a master’s certificate in project management from George Washington University. He also holds certified association executive, project management professional, and professional engineering manager credentials.
