October 4-6 2016, Dubai, UAE
The objective of the workshop is to present and discuss the current use and future perspectives of multi-physics data in building integrated geological and reservoir models. Multi-physics measurements for discussion include gravity, electromagnetics (EM), GPR, and satellite imagery. Integration of such measurements into single geological models and integration with seismic measurements are key focus areas. Several high resolution techniques with total field or gradient measurements have been introduced for shallow and deep exploration in land and marine environments to enhance velocity model building for structural modelling. EM techniques acquired at the surface, or with combinations of borehole and surface acquisition geometries are promising to bring new value to the characterization and monitoring of fluids in the reservoir. Integration of measurements into multiparameter models, such as provided by joint inversion techniques, are key areas which have started to leave the research environment to be transferred to production.
The workshop objectives are to highlight the most successful multi-physics integration applications in the fields of hydrocarbon exploration and recovery.

- Advances in multi-physics land, marine and airborne acquisition technologies.
- Advances in theory of integrated geophysical imaging.
- Case Studies of velocity model building strategies integrating EM and gravity in; e.g. near surface, subsalt, sub-basalt, thrust-belt.
- Case studies of integrated geophysical exploration for hydrocarbons in land and marine environments.
- Reservoir characterization and monitoring from inversion and joint inversion of seismic and non-seismic methods.
- The impact of multi-physics measurements on the determination of petrophysical properties.
The format of the workshop will feature presentations by invited experts in their field to share their experiences and lessons learned. The workshop will serve as a forum to have open and extended discussions on the current status and future use of multi-physics integration in hydrocarbon exploration & recovery. Emphasis will be placed on applications to highlight the added value provided by the integration of different technologies.
6 sessions (3 days). We will aim for one key speaker per session with a closing session at the end of the workshop to serve as a summary and outlook going forward. The Oral sessions are made up of 20 minutes and 10 minutes questions. After each 60-90 minutes a discussion session will be planned. The objective of this session is to allow participants to discuss in details and learn what has worked for them and debate on issues and challenges facing them during their daily workflows. Session chairs will serve as discussion leaders during the 90 minutes.
- Information and instructions for submission of papers to present at the workshop is available in the Call for Abstracts form.
- The organizing committee will carefully review applications and papers to determine acceptance.
- Notification of accepted abstracts will be in end of June 2016. If accepted, you will receive registration and housing information by email.
- Register and pay the fee to attend the workshop.
- Make your own housing reservations with the hotel using the information you will be given to secure the special group rate for workshop attendees.
