Per Avseth is a geophysical advisor and CTO of Dig Science in Oslo, Norway, and a part-time researcher at the Dept. of Electronic Systems at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim. Per received his M.Sc. in Applied Petroleum Geosciences from NTNU in 1993, and his Ph.D. in Geophysics from Stanford University, California, in 2000. Per has more than 20 years experience in the oil industry, and he was the SEG Honorary Lecturer for Europe in 2009. He is a co-author of the book Quantitative Seismic Interpretation (Cambridge University Press, 2005), and has published extensively in the fields of rock physics and AVO analysis. His current research focuses on basin-scale rock physics and integration of basin modeling, sedimentology and rock physics.
