Any applicant with eight (8) years of educational and/or full-time professional experience in geophysics or a related field such as physics, mathematics, engineering or geology should instead apply for Active Membership
Associate members receive many of the same benefits as Active with the exception of voting. They are entitled to attend Society meetings, to receive its journals, and to purchase its publications on the same terms as Active Members.
Transfer from Associate to Active Membership is handled in the same manner as election to Active Membership. Members wishing to transfer must complete an Active Membership application and return it to the SEG business office.
An Associate Member cannot transfer to Student Membership mid-year. This request must be made during the dues renewal season and before payment is made, October to March only.
