SEG is dedicated to promoting the science of geophysics. The very nature of the World Wide Web allows SEG to reach a far wider audience in the general public than do the traditional activities of the Society (publications, conventions and continuing education). Therefore, the SEG has a vested interest in providing online information that maintains the SEG’s standards of excellence and promotes the science of geophysics.
