SEG Annual Dues Waiver Program
In an effort to assist SEG members in continuing their membership during periods of unemployment, Associate and Active members can apply for dues waivers if they meet the conditions below:
- Has been a member of SEG for at least 3 years immediately preceding the current year (2014, 2015, 2016)
- Has been currently unemployed for at least three months
- Is actively searching for work
- Is on maternity/parental leave from their employer, in order to provide care for a family member for an uninterrupted period of no less than one year and no more than five years. For purposes of this waiver, family includes spouse, children, siblings, parents, or parents-in-law.

All dues waiver applications are treated confidentially and reviewed by a small sub-committee of the Membership Committee for approval.
Associate members who are granted the waiver will have their dues waived for one year, as a one‐time benefit. Active members may have their dues waived for up to two years and are eligible to request an additional dues waiver if they become unemployed again.
In the year following participation in the program, the member will receive an invoice for the full dues amount. The Dues Waiver Program operates on an annual basis, and may be terminated at the close of any calendar year.
Unemployed members are also encouraged to send a cover letter/résumé to SEG for a free posting on SEG’s career site.
Dues Waiver Program participants are entitled to receive SEG benefits of membership online only as provided under the bylaws.
